Project results for the period July 2022 – June 2023

Novi Pazar

The project successfully provided permanent employment opportunities for 22 beneficiaries belonging to disadvantaged employment categories such as returnees and Roma individuals. These beneficiaries were hired by 11 employers based in Novi Pazar. To support the employers in enhancing their businesses and creating new job opportunities, they were provided with equipment, machinery, and materials valued at 3750 euros for each newly created position. This support aimed at expanding the businesses’ capacity or production volume, ultimately leading to the generation of new employment opportunities.

Self-employment initiatives were also implemented as part of the project. Specifically, 12 beneficiaries received donations of planting materials and supportive equipment to start or improve their raspberry production ventures.

In addition to employment-related efforts, the project also focused on providing psychosocial support. A total of 142 workshops were conducted, benefiting over 315 participants. It is worth noting that the number of participants exceeded the count as many individuals attended multiple programs simultaneously.

Pirot

The project successfully provided permanent employment opportunities for 12 beneficiaries from challenging employment categories, including returnees and Roma individuals. These beneficiaries were hired by 6 employers based in Pirot. To support the employers in improving their businesses and creating new job opportunities, they received assistance in the form of equipment, machinery, and materials valued at 3750 euros for each newly created position. This support aimed to enhance business operations by expanding their capacity or production volume, leading to the generation of new jobs.

In addition, the project also focused on promoting self-employment. Specifically, 15 beneficiaries received greenhouses to initiate agricultural production and generate additional income for their families.

Furthermore, psychosocial support was an integral part of the project. A total of 67 workshops were conducted, benefiting over 160 participants. It should be noted that the number of participants exceeded the count, as many individuals attended multiple programs simultaneously.

Dimitrovgrad

The project successfully provided permanent employment opportunities for 12 beneficiaries who come from challenging employment categories such as returnees and Roma individuals. These beneficiaries were hired by 3 employers based in Dimitrovgrad. To support these employers in enhancing their businesses and creating new job opportunities, they received assistance in the form of equipment, machinery, and materials valued at 3750 euros for each newly created position. This support aimed at improving their business operations by expanding capacity or production volume, ultimately leading to the creation of new jobs.

Additionally, the project focused on promoting self-employment. Specifically, 15 beneficiaries were provided with greenhouses to initiate agricultural production and earn additional income for their families.

Moreover, the project prioritized providing psychosocial support. A total of 41 workshops were conducted, benefiting over 132 participants. It is important to note that the number of participants exceeded the count, as many individuals attended multiple programs simultaneously.

Meeting of cities and municipalities in Novi Pazar

A meeting of cities and municipalities was held in Novi Pazar, taking place in the foyer of the Novi Pazar Cultural Center. The purpose of the meeting was to present the economic, social, and tourist capacities of the city to representatives from local governments, social work centers, and citizens’ associations from Kruševac, Pirot, and Dimitrovgrad, as part of the Reintegration II project.

The guests included representatives from participating cities and municipalities, as well as the implementation team of the Reintegration II project. They were warmly welcomed by Mayor Nihat Biševac, the Regional Development Agency of Sandžak SEDA, and the Tourist Organization of Novi Pazar. During the event, the progress made and the potential of Novi Pazar were shared and discussed, providing valuable insights for the attendees.

Round table “Development of shelter for children in Novi Pazar 

A round table event titled “Development of a Shelter for Children in Novi Pazar” took place at the Regional Innovation Start-up Center in Novi Pazar. The attendees included representatives from local governments, social protection institutions, and citizens’ associations from Kruševac, Pirot, Dimitrovgrad, Tutin, Sjenica, Ivanjica, Raška, Kragujevac, Belgrade, and Novi Pazar.

The purpose of the event was to discuss the needs, challenges, and plans for improving social services, particularly in relation to the establishment of a shelter for vulnerable children and youth in Novi Pazar. Participants exchanged experiences and shared results in this field, focusing on topics such as planning, financing, legal regulations, and the operational experiences of existing shelters.

Following the round table discussion, the guests visited the Day Care Center for children, youth, and adults with developmental disabilities in Novi Pazar. During the visit, they had the opportunity to learn more about the center’s activities, development plans, and potential areas for collaboration.
