The workshops in the regions are taking place according to plan – a large number of interested children and young people.
Inclusive workshops for children and young people take place according to the project implementation plan in all regions.
They aim to offer social support to beneficiaries and to increase knowledge about their rights to available services in the community. This support is provided in pre-established good-neighbor clubs, facilities of local partners as well as in other public facilities (primary schools, centers of culture, etc.)
So far, more than 420 children and young people have attended workshops through various programs:
- Sports – recreational
- Creative, art and drama
- Support in mastering school material
- Peer mediation and debate club workshops
- Trauma of migration and return – familiarization of returnees with the local community, life in a new environment
- Reproductive health
- Social clubbing – workshops aimed at bringing together children and young people through various activities
- Additional lessons in Serbian, English and mathematics
- Visiting the sights of the cities and learning about other cultures and cultural heritage
- Folklore and folk tradition
- Psychological counseling center for children and young people
- Activist and volunteer actions
- Position of minority and sensitive groups and discrimination as well as numerous others
There was a great interest and attendance at the workshops, which provide an insight into topics that were not available to them in this way until now, and bring education from wider areas closer to young people through interactive and adapted content. All topics are adapted to the age and gender groups, and the curriculum is fully compatible with the formal educational curriculum.
Equal participation of women and men, boys and girls is promoted by careful coordination of workshops and constant monitoring of participant statistics on a monthly basis.
The great commitment of the workshop staff in the cities where the Reintegration II project is implemented, as well as their mutual networking and exchange of knowledge and experience, contributed to the exceptional quality of work with children. Inclusion teams also regularly carry out visits to beneficiaries, individual/group counselling, social skills development, learning support, training and more.
In Novi Pazar, this is the third year of the implementation of Reintegration, and we already have behind us generations who have grown up with us – through the workshops, they have become closer, united and are already acting in their communities as mediators and bearers of change – of better mutual understanding, tolerance and appreciation of diversity.
