On Tuesday, 22.11.2022. In the ceremonial hall of the Cultural Center Novi Pazar, Stevana Nemanja 2, starting at 12:00, a conference was held on the occasion of the official announcement of the project “Reintegration 2 – further support for the sustainable (re)integration of returnees in Serbia”.
The main goal of the project is to contribute to the sustainable (re)integration of returnees and the local socially vulnerable population in Central and Southern Serbia.
The project will support more than 800 beneficiaries in Novi Pazar, in order to strengthen their economic and social position and improve their integration into the community. Support is foreseen through the provision of subsidies for self-employment, various business trainings and VAT’s, subsidies to employers for opening new jobs and employing returnees and other less employable categories of the population, support for children and young people through the implementation of inclusive workshops, as well as the development of institutional capacities in the field of social protection at the local level.
At the conference, city councilor Fevzija Murić spoke about the project, as well as representatives of the organizations ASB Serbia, IDC, the Regional Development Agency of Sandžak SEDA, and the association Merhamet Sandžak.
This is the third year of project implementation, and the previous project “Reintegration – support for sustainable (re)integration of returnees in Serbia” included more than 1,900 children and young people who attended 900 workshops, 98 grants for self-employment, with 270 trainings for starting their own work.
The total value of the project for the City of Novi Pazar is EUR 310,000.00. The project holder is ASB Serbia (Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund), the implementer of the Initiative for Development and Cooperation (IDC), and the beneficiaries districts of the project are Pirotski, Rasinski and Raški district. The project was financed by the funds of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development BMZ and lasts until April 2025.
